Life before Christian Girls Home:
Wiseland tells us that before she was admitted to the girls’ home, she lived a hard life at her parents home. The economic situation was really tough – no food, no good drinking water or clothing. It was impossible to attend school on a regular basis.
Favorite Bible verse: Acts 16:31
Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – you and your household.
Life in the Christian Girls Home:
Wiseland is the youngest of the three Joinville sisters living at the home. She says living in the home has changed her spiritual life. She has no desire for the world now – and can understand clearly through the Bible what is wrong and what is right. She likes the home because they have special time for prayer and Bible study. She feels her knowledge of the Bible has increased tremendously. The home is providing Wiseland with a sense of community as she recognizes the opportunity to share her thoughts with the other girls.
Wiseland acknowledges all her spiritual and material needs are met by living in the home.
Wiseland (pronounced weese-lyn) is wise indeed and fiercely protective. She patiently helps us learn the Creole language and drapes a protective arm around our waists when we venture outside of the home.
