MeriCiane - Click Here to read more about MeriCiane

Birthday: May 8

Life before Christian Girls Home:
MeriCiane is the newest resident of the home. While the other girls all moved into the house in March 2008, she arrived in August. MeriCiane appears to be having difficulty finding her "place" among the other girls and we are hoping it is just a matter of time before she overcomes her shyness and begins to really make friends. MeriCiane lived a difficult life in an unstable home. Her family was unable to provide basic needs of food and clothing. She is easily upset when speaking of her time before coming to the home.

Birthday: November 17

Life before Christian Girls Home: (in her own words)
Before I came to the girls’ home, I would live with my aunt because I was abandoned by my mother who was mentally ill. I then went to live with a friend. I moved so much and I did not have a stable place to live and especially after my father passed away so I became a very poor girl. Fortunately, my church gave me a great opportunity to go to finish grammar school and go to high school. So I was successful for years through primary school and into secondary school and I came to know God and follow Christ in the Baptism and became a member of my church. Coming to the girls’ home is an answer to my prayers.

Life before Christian Girls Home: (in her own words)
I was not born into a wealthy family, my parents were so poor that at the age of 5 another lady took me from my parents because they were not able to support or take care of me. I went to school and completed high school and by the grace of God I am here living in the Christian Girls Home. So, I can talk about the full grace of God and about a complete salvation body and soul. I have confidence in God for the best life and future. The Christian Girls home is an answer to my prayers and my future.

Birthday: November 22
Father living, Mother passed. 3 brothers, 3 sisters.

Life before Christian Girls Home: (in her own words)
I saw my father and mother living a good life together and raising 6 children. Finally they separated; I do not know why. Right after they split, life became so difficult that it forced me to go to live with my godmother for 3 years and then an aunt for 6 months. Then the Christian Girls Home was opened with a large opportunity for me and stopped my struggles in life. My mother passed away when I was 13 years old. Now I am 17 and God has brought me to a new stage of life.

Ketteline came to us with no shoes and only the clothes she was wearing. She speaks of good times with her family and being loved by her parents. She describes the home she grew up in as having no furniture and little food; the worst part of her life was not being able to go to school, being hungry every day and not having clothes...
