Life before Christian Girls Home:
Emmanuela remembers just how difficult it was to go to school before she came to the home. She was embarrassed because she often did not have laundry soap and could not always clean her school uniform. Her family could not afford transportation, so Emmanuela would walk an hour to school and an hour home. Many days, her only meal was the one provided at school.

Taste and see the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.

Life in the Christian Girls Home:
Living at the home has completely changed her life. She no longer feels her life is in danger. She feels completely secure knowing she will always have enough food, clothing and transportation. She fills her days with Bible study and morning prayers. She enjoys reading the book of Psalms because it comforts her when she experiences troubling times.

Like her name sake, when Emmanuela sings hymns, prays or recites Bible verses, her expression and passion lights the room with Christ’s presence among us.
