January 17, 2010 - Earthquake Update 6

We received a call last night from the Joint Council on International Childrens' Issues requesting us to have Darline taken to the U.S. embassy as soon as it was safely possible to do so!!!!!!

She said they cannot guarantee that she will be admitted (???) but that we were to take her there and if they denied her entry, we were to have Roody give them her number so they could contact her office for confirmation.  Needless to say, after nearly 100 hours of continuous perseverance and prayer on the part of many people since Tuesday (THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!) it appears as though the end of Darline's ordeal may be at hand.  It's not over until it's over, but we are extremely hopeful!! 

Our field missionary, Roody Joseph, has let us know that it is far too dangerous to take her there tonight but he will head to the embassy with her bright and early in the morning. So, we are going to try to get a little bit of sleep
