PROMISED PROVISION MINISTRIES
GOD PROMISES PROVISION AFTER EARTHQUAKE ROCKS HAITI

January 13, 2010 - THEY NEED YOU NOW MORE THAN EVER

A 7.0 earthquake struck just 10 miles west of Port-au-Prince at about 5pm yesterday. Then hundreds of thousands of already stricken people were terrorized over and over again as the ground continued to shake in subsequent smaller ones.  All they could do was helplessly watch as poorly constructed buildings crumbled all around them and the already ravaged roads buckled beneath them.  PLEASE HOLD OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS UP BEFORE THE LORD IN PRAYER - prayers for safety and that He will hold and comfort His children and grant them His peace that passes understanding amidst the turmoil and suffering.

We have been praying throughout the night and waiting to hear from someone on the ground in Haiti to tell us everyone at Bethesda Mission Church,  the Soldats de Christ prayer house, and Foyer de Sion orphanage is ok -- but we still have had no word. PLEASE PRAY THAT WE WILL RECEIVE FAVORABLE WORD OF THEM SOON.

The people we serve in Haiti will no doubt turn to us for help now that the sun has risen and damages can be more fully assessed.  There is no such thing as emergency services -- fire/rescue/ambulance and there are no doctors in Leogane except for visiting missionary medical teams.  Once night falls again, viable searches will not be possible until morning.  PLEASE PRAY A SPECIAL PRAYER FOR THOSE WHO ARE INJURED OR TRAPPED IN DEBRIS because medical care is virtually non-existent and viable searches are only possible during daylight hours.

Promised Provision will make every effort to provide relief in the heartbreaking aftermath of this disaster;   When the sun rises again in the morning, the extent of the damage will once again be visible, and people in need will turn to us for help because we've been there in the past for them.  We would like to be able to provide life-sustaining food, water, shelter, and care to the staff and students of the school as well as the elderly and infirm members of the congregation in the coming days, weeks, and months.  PLEASE PRAY THAT GOD WILL BE GLORIFIED THROUGH HIS PROVISION WE CAN ROUTE TO THEM.

We know that finances are tough for all of us right now but, to whatever extent you possibly can, won't you please dig deep and reach out in love to God's children, our brothers and sisters in Christ, in Haiti by sharing your blessings with them at this devastating, crucial time?  What we are able to do for them now will most certainly mean the difference between life and death.  Even on good days in Haiti, the struggle and demand for extremely limited food supplies and potable water far exceeds availability.
